Can't Buy Me Love

When MTV declared Richard Lester the "father of music videos," he famously demanded a blood test. This video show why he deserves the accolade. Unlike any musical sequence in previous films, this is not a performance, not a re-enactment, it's not even choreographed. This is a well-edited celebration of human movement -- what Lester called "pure film."
(A poor battery in one of the cameras gave Lester the idea of speeding up the motion.)
